Katie Kritzberg, Speech Language Pathologist at West Buncombe Elementary School reviewed a Fundations lesson in 1st grade . The focus was words with glued sounds such as -ang, -ank. She helped students understand where these two sounds are made in their mouth along with bringing awareness to how our tongue and teeth help produce these and other sounds. Mrs. Kritzberg also introduced new vocabulary words that have the same glued sounds. Our first graders have mastered this concept now and learned in a new and inventive way.
