Two North Buncombe High School students have taken their talents from Weaverville to the world stage this summer.
Sienna Charlier and Paran Peters recently attended the International Thespian Festival at Indiana University with their teacher, Ricky Webb. The students received the highest ranking, “Superior,” in both their solo and duet musical theater performances.
“Sienna and Paran were truly amazing representatives of BCS and North Buncombe High School,” said Mr. Webb. “In addition to performing and participating in a dozen workshops and seeing productions including ‘Hadestown’ and ‘The Prince of Egypt,’ we met Stephen Swartz, composer of ‘Wicked’ and other great musicals.”
The students qualified to attend the International Thespian Festival after their outstanding performances at the North Carolina Thespian Festival, held earlier this year at East Carolina University.
